India is the only team where u replace a senior player with an even more senior player. It could ve been an opportunity for a junior. The main reason probably could be that India has an array of home matches on 'friendly' grounds not the bouncy ones that makes the 'great' ODI team shudder. So they think they don't need him

its good to think about future but see to it that our present is not ruined bcaz of that, dravid is in good form we hav sehwag, yuvraj, gambhir and raina as attacking batsmen sachin and dhoni can change their batting pace at anytime but dont selectors think we need someone like dravid who can anchor innings well than sachin and dhoni and let others play attacking cricket .?????? i dont think any new comer can make 20 odd runs against aus. so yyyy not give them chance to mature
